After chrome tanning, a 3M waterproofing agent is placed in a tyco during dyeing to allow the waterproofing agent to penetrate into the leather fibers. Since the waterproofing agent penetrates deep into the fibers, it continuously prevents water and oil from penetrating from the back and sides of the leather, as well as from scratches. It is impregnated with a large amount of special waterproofing oil, making it supple and soft to the touch. The surface is also finished to have a fine kip-like texture. The ultimate soft and smooth product cannot be achieved without a good balance between tanning, dyeing, and oil blending. This leather has passed the SCOTCHGARD® monitoring test and is waterproof, oil-proof, and stain-proof (it doesn't leave stains on your hands). This monitoring test is performed even if the surface is scraped, so the effectiveness will not diminish over time. The accessory material is INVISTA's 1680D Cordura Ballistic® nylon, which has approximately 5 times the wear and tear strength and durability of regular nylon, and the back side is PVC treated to further improve strength and waterproofness.
